This is the highlights report of the 23rd National Rural Networks meeting held on 21 September 2022.

The meeting aimed to discuss the role of CAP networks in supporting green architecture of the CAP, explore approaches on how can NSUs strengthen innovation support, provide an update on rural networking activities and have working sessions on networking activities, including the Rural Inspiration Awards Cluster vote.

This is the highlights report of the 1st meeting of the Thematic Group on Strengthening the position of farmers in the organic food supply chain held on 15 September 2022.

This factsheet includes ideas and examples resulting from the 2nd meeting of ENRD's Thematic Group on Carbon Farming (TG). It explored the challenges and opportunities involved with upscaling carbon farming in the EU, and presented key factors that would increase farmers’ motivation to engage with carbon farming and enhance actors’ knowledge about which carbon farming practices would be most  adequate for them. The group also identified policy challenges associated with taking action in these areas.

 

This is the highlights report of the 2nd Thematic Group meeting on Carbon Farming held on 09 June 2021.

This second meeting built on the Thematic Group activities so far. It looked at how to demonstrate the success of initiatives in sequestering carbon and agreed what conditions need to be put in place to enable the upscaling of carbon farming in all parts of the EU.

This article gives an overview of how more support for organic systems as a form of agro-ecological production can help address policy challenges by achieving sustainable agricultural and food systems for Europe.

Sustainable, ecological approaches to European farming, the heart of the European Green Deal, are needed to safeguard food supplies for EU citizens and protect the long-term livelihoods of rural communities.
