The ENRD Contact Point ran a survey in November 2017 amongst Local Action Groups (LAGs) from across Europe to explore their insights on LEADER/CLLD implementation, including use of the LEADER principles, operation and desired improvements for the future.

This is the largest and most comprehensive LEADER survey ever conducted with 710 LAG responses received from 27 EU Member States.

This page presents the survey findings both at the European and national levels, drawing on LAGs’ implementation experiences and suggestions on how these can be improved.

Findings at national level

This section presents the working papers from 23 out of the 28 EU Member States.

* Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, and Slovenia are not included due to confidentiality considerations linked to the small number of LAGs who responded from these Member States.

* Slovakian LAGs were not surveyed due to the stage of LAG approval at the time of the survey.
