We are looking for partners in France or neighbouring countries, primarily along the Mediterranean coast to share experience on production practices, in particular hop production practices. We are looking for public bodies, organisations facilitating local development, organisations of producers, organisations of brewers, associations or enterprises providing technical support for local and craft beer sectors.

Project idea summary: 

This cooperation project aims to share experience and spread good practices on the support to the development of craft breweries. The LAG Est-Audois is looking for territories where craft breweries are willing to act locally or have started to relocate their barley and hop supply, or launched collective projects, and which are willing to share their experience and conducting joint initiatives to support these breweries or hop field project leads.

Objectives: 

This cooperation project aims at conducting joint initiatives, sharing experience, benefitting from good practices regarding technical support to the malting sector, and spreading these practices in other territories.
For local actors in involved territories, the project will consist in :
• Conducting joint initiatives : participative or comparative experiments of hop production in mediterranean areas, joint organisation of training sessions / work events / study trips for brewers, hop field project leads and/or local institutional actors offering technical support to the brewing sector ;
• Sharing experiences in order to benefit from good practices and spread them in other territories on the following topics:
- spreading the results of experiments on local hop production in mediterranean soil and climatic conditions,
- building up a group of brewers for barley/hop production or for the 1st transformation (malting),
- sharing of good practices on joint investments in microbreweries, on the promotion of craft beers, on the collaboration between local actors on craft brewery, and on circular economy applied to microbreweries.
