Stimulation of innovative entrepreneurship in rural areas

Our idea is to support local craftsmen and entrepreneurs and to stimulate innovative entrepreneurship through collaborations with other LAGs.

Baldone is a small town in the middle of Latvia with population of 5700 inhabitants. It is an attractive place to promote entrepreneurship because it is only 33km away from Riga. Baldone area has great natural assets including forests, small lakes and springs and therefore it has a great potential for tourism development. In our vision, Baldone area will develop through innovative entrepreneurship and our goal is to create positive conditions for local entrepreneurs. It will be achieved through collaborative initiatives of local entrepreneurs.

Our objectives are to: • Create a network for craftsmen and entrepreneurs from our area and collaborate with other LAGs in order to exchange experience. • Create a list of products. • Find new ways of advertising and selling products. • Introduce local craftsmen and entrepreneurs to internet trading. • Educate local craftsmen and entrepreneurs about innovative entrepreneurship to increase added value of their products. • Provide trading opportunities for entrepreneurs from collaborating LAGs: local markets, fairs.
