LAG Sredets falls within the border of Sredets municipality. It includes 33 settlements, of which 1 city and 32 villages. The terrain is hilly, smoothly cut by river gorges aiming to Burgas Valley and from there to the Black Sea. The LAG is located on the crossroads of three major regions: the south coast of the Black Sea, the South Central Region and the Republic of Turkey. The majority of the active population in the municipality is engaged in agriculture and forestry. Since the area is ecologically clean, there are favorable conditions for the development of organic farming. Strandzha region is rich in historical sites of interest for tourism. Essential factor for the development of tourism are cultural and historical monuments and sites, museums and events.
