Mobile Command Centre Concept
Summary
The MCC, assisted by EAFRD provides IT services as temporary arrangements. Behind MCC lies the idea of combining familiar forms of technology, so that they are open to new uses. It brings all services together in a simple and flexible system.
Background
Infotech Concept ApS is the company that has developed the "Mobile Command Centre Concept" project to provide IT services as temporary arrangements.
Objective
The project aims to help create a number of jobs on the island, and at the same time to offer products and services that can also benefit other companies in Denmark. In order to keep the focus on local development, there will be use made of the "local area", where possible.
Main activities
The MCC cars have a backbone system, and an antenna system for sending communications out to decentralised units. The system is fully secured with UPS, a climate-controlled server room, a self-starting generator, redundant backbone network and command centre division with workstations and meeting rooms. The project is currently in a former stadium, and marketing is being done by word of mouth.
Results & Benefits
The MCC expected results include: i) the creation of at least one employment opportunity; ii) the Communication & Surveillance container command centre system, which is aimed at monitoring building sites ; iii) internet access load balancing aimed at schools that want to have a stable, productive IT service for their pupils and teachers; iv) provision of assistance to create more new products and goals based on parts of the technology used by the MCC system.
Lessons learnt
The greatest challenge has been to take the developed products to the relevant customer group. Some preparatory work therefore needed to be done, and the team had to face the fact that they not only have to be technicians for the project, but also its salesmen.
