Constituting 90% of their territory and being home to over half the population, rural areas in the 27 Member States of the European Union constitute a vitally important policy area. Policy in Action invites you to explore what rural development policy means in practice, looking at the European, national and regional policy levels, which are all supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). You can, for instance, find information on Rural Development Programmes (RDP), statistics tracking their progress, a large range of RDP projects, and learn about the ENRD’s analytical work on how to improve implementation by browsing through the following sections.
