Wild Woods

Using woodland as an ideal environment for play, activities, learning events. Especially to re-connect young children with the environment and helping parents facilitate this, using local foods- forest fruits and fungi.

The Northumberland Uplands covers the upland areas of the county of Northumberland. It covers some 30,000 sq km (including 1,000 sq km of the Northumberland National Park) and has a population of some 33,000 people, giving a population density of 11 per sq km which is sparse for the UK. NULAG’s overall goal is to build on opportunities and address key rural issues, promoting sustainable growth by addressing all four of its elements, namely economic performance, community development, environmental enhancement and equality.
