Craft & Creative Industries Stimulus programme targeting rural entrepreneurs (micro)
The proposed project seeks to develop a viable TNC project that will generate long term co-operation in the sector. It seeks to explore and share best practice, transfer learning and increase the contribution that creative activities can make to the economy of Co. Roscommon.
The LAG has prioritised the craft and creative industries sector for particular focus and attention in its RD Plan 2007-2013. This is an under-developed yet promising sector with strong growth potential to generate high quality employment, stimulate innovation in other sectors, play a key social role and stimulate rural development.
-Stimulate entrepreneurship opportunities for self-employed and business starts -Interventions to support existing operators in the sector that are under pressure -Develop a significant infrastructure project to facilitate a dedicated & customised creative industries workspace hub -Organising joint events (seminars & training) - Devise new models of networking and co-operation -Exchanging best practices around stimulating rural employment -Production of joint publications
