Opportunity to organize and participate in International dance festivals

Local context in which
the project is going to operate (starting situation):

Amateur collective society "RAKSTI" unites Stopinu county dance groups. Society aims are to promote, to create the impression, to present the diversity of ethnographic folk dances and the culture of wearing national costumes. Dance groups actively participate in events organized by Stopinu county (Midsummer (summer solstice), Latvian Independence Day, Christmas, Easter and etc.), various events of Latvia (dance shows, Latvia’s Nationwide Song and Dance Festival),as well as in various dance festivals abroad.

Project objectives, target group and activities:

To get partners in European countries to promote Latvian dance traditions and get acquainted with other country dance culture. Target group: middle age and youth dance groups.
