Project title:
Work-study training on elderly care
Summary of project idea:
European partner wanted (Ireland, United Kingdom, Denmark or Sweden) in order to develop a Work-Study training program that meets the needs of the elderly care market and companies working in the sector. Local context in which
the project is going to operate (starting situation):
A key role of the Alençon GAL (Alençon Local Action Group) is to create a centre for excellence capable of making the region a reference in the Elderly Care market and for companies active in the sector. An Automated Home Teaching Centre ( www.maisondomotique-normandie.com) was set up by IRSAP (Regional Care Services Institute), strengthening Alençon’s position as a key reference in social care. As a result of this project the Tech Sap Ouest association ( www.techsapouest.com ) has been set up along with social care organisations, industry, researchers, professionals and regional bodies. Now, IRSAP, would like to develop a social care training course with a European scope.
Project objectives, target group and activities:
IRSAP, the Regional Care Services Institute, trains staff at the request of the FESP ( National Care Services Federation ) as home care workers (level V / NVQ level 2) up to managers (Bachelors – II / Degree ). Located on the Vocational Training Campus in south Alençon in Normandy, the institute has just invested in new buildings including an Automated Home teaching centre. In cooperation with industry, researchers and the support of TECHSAP Ouest, IRSAP is a key player in the elderly care market. IRSAP wishes to continue its development by opening a training course ( for example a Masters ) to meet the needs of social care for the elderly and companies in the elderly care market looking to internationalise their activity.
