LEADER 2012_Peri-urban Leader Regions – between urban area and countryside

The main aim of the project is to change experience between LAGs with peri-urban structure, to discuss actual and future problems in this special areas and different ways of solution – good practice.

Linz-Land is the region in the south of Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. Our region is situated in an economically and geographically favorable position in the heart of Austria. The structures of the 22 communities are very different. This creates a livable environment through the combination of urban and rural areas which also brings a strong move into the region. More and more people come to the region for living here and work in the city. There is an enormous growth and small communities have problems to develop necessary social infrastructure. Migration is a big topic, also energy and sustainable development. One main theme is suffering us for a long time: how to keep cultural heritage and create regional identity?

Linz-Land is interested in a cooperation with other peri-urban LAGs to discuss and exchange experiences in the different fields, maybe - development and management of peri-urban spaces - Food and short circuits - Energy, traffic and sustainable development - landscape, cultural heritage and peri-urban identity Maybe about the topic peri-urban regions it´s possible to create some special projects focused on one of these topics.
