LEADER 2012_Culture / Food & Farming / Sport of open air The organization of events on culture, farming or outdoor sports.

We would like to participate to the organization of an event which will promote our Region. We are interested in three topics: culture (music, cultural identity), farming (agricultural know-how, local products) or outdoor sports sport (trail, mountain bike). So, events can be music festivals, local product markets, sport seminaries… Our goal is to create a real exchange between Europeans LAGs. The participation to a foreign event together with a LAG partner GAL will open new opportunities for cooperation projects. In return, our partner will be invited in future events of the same type, which we will organize in our area.

The area of the Centre Corse Leader area (56 municipalities & 1 342,41 sq km), is deeply influenced by its history and its culture. It also presents many richness (landscape, productions…). Despite these facts, its population level is rather low (around 10 inhabitants per square kilometer) and is deeply remote. The Centre Corse LAG therefore wishes to open itself to experiences carried out on other areas in order to target a better local territorial development. Several actions are already developed in cooperation notably the following: We set up a cooperation project around the recognition of the Cursinu (the Corsican dog) through its pastoral use. A label is going to be implemented by the “Parc Naturel Régional de Corse” (the Regional Natural Park of Corsica) in order to increase valu

Promote our territories. Perpetuate, multiply and diversify regular exchanges between our Regions. Culture: enable the discovery of the Corsican culture, discover other culture, contribute to the opening of the local area. Food & Farming: make farming a more dynamic activity, promote local products, enable access to quality products, propose new accesses to markets to producers (local, national or international). Outdoor sport: make the area more dynamic, raise awareness on environmental protection issues using outdoor sport activities, discover sports from partner areas.

We are looking for partners who are like us: with a real cultural identity, an ancestral agricultural know-how… Example of wished partners: Scotland, Ireland or Wales.
