LEADER 2012_Development Cooperation rural area of Marginimea Sibiului

In villages on the edge of the mountains in Sibiu County Marginimea Sibiuluiand, its inhabitants Mărginen are famous all the “boiţeni” to “jinari” for cattle breeding and especially for their sheep. They lined up on the mountain villages locals "like beads on a string", south and west around the famous medieval city of Sibiu, the largest urban center, and a real agro pastoral area. The villages of transhumant shepherds, most important, true centers were Sălişte Răşinari and Poiana Sibiu. Traditional product-cheese became known Marginimea Sibiu but there are real problems selling the product. At the same time appear in the agri-food markets in Sibiu and other cities that produce branded "Marginime Cottage – Marginimea Sibiului" are produced in the area Margin.

Promote traditional product-cheese Marginimea Sibiului. For cooperation Project “Development Rural area of Marginimea Sibiului” we plan to open, taken into account the Spanish partners experience, the Museum of Shepherds from the Marginimea Sibiului, Rasinari village, museum willpresent the history of sheep in the area, the product-manufacturing process of Marginime cheese and have a traditional retail outlet product. Museum will be animated, visitors can participate in the product, can visit a traditional sheepfold or agro-rural related items which will see sheep and will eat. In addition to setting up the project we plan and create a museum tour offers accommodation in Marginimea Sibiului area, with the objective of promoting the product through traditional routes such as "Sheep Road"
