THINKING TOGETHER SOCIAL ISSUES THROUGH THEATER

The project : We would like to develop a joint-action through a cultural exchange between Nosferatu and another cultural actor interessed to work on the theme of “women” or another social issue. The goal is to plan and realize an original cultural event inviting artists and spectators to THINK TOGETHER SOCIAL ISSUES THROUGH THEATER.

The LAG’s Territory : The area of « Pays de la Jeune Loire » is a dynamic rural and industrial area. It is situated at the crossing point into the Rhône-Alpes region (near the city of LYON). Its counts 80 000 inhabitants. The Project holder : NOSFERATU is a theater company (https://www.compagnienosferatu.fr) installed in the area of “Pays de la Jeune-Loire” since 2004. It’s currently received in Yssingeaux’s town Theatre with the ambition to develop a quality musical theatre combining distraction and reflexion about social issues. The theme of “women” is particularly explored by the company through a project about women who worked in factories of the territory before economic crisis. The goal is to build commonly an original cultural event in 2014 combining shows of theaters companies from different countries dealing with social issues in order to invite local people and spectators to open their mind through an exchange around these issues with artists from different rural areas of France and other european countries.
