TEENAGERS AND EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP

We would like to develop a joint-action through a cultural exchange between teenagers (12 to 17 years old). The idea is for the teenagers to discover different ways of life and challenge their ideas on European citizenship and national identity.

The LAG Pays de la Jeune Loire is located in the center of the France. The project holder will be "Loire-Semene", a towns’ community located in Haute Loire ; Its counts 20 000 inhabitants. (find us on the map : https://maps.google.fr/maps?hl=fr&tab=wl) We would like to develop a joint-action through a cultural exchange between teenagers (12 to 17 years old). The idea is for the teenagers to discover different ways of life and challenge their ideas on European citizenship and national identity.

The goal is to plan exchanges between teenagers to debate on issues relating to European citizenship and sense of belonging. The meeting could during 6 to 10 days. This could be based on “crossing looks” from both groups of teenagers on photos exhibitions (prepared by each group before the meeting) showing the reality of their respective territories. It could lead to the setting up of a common “travel book” (for example). Moreover, the meeting could be followed (observed) by a group of artists to produce a little book gathering and assembling young people reflexions, ideas and exchanges. This little book could be edited then to become a support of discussion on the theme of European citizenship.
