Develop rural tourism activity
Tourism favors local tourists. It is being structured to improve the touristic offer. This activity tries to bring out know-how, architectural and natural heritages, landscape, in particular through agro-tourism. Main objectives: - Found new ideas, answers, experiences - Introduce people to territory, to open new markets - Consolidate the identity and the image of the territory - Implement a concrete project
LAG area consists of two parts: one plain & a medium-sized mountain are. There are 2 principal towns & the LAG tries to develop links between those urban centers &rural areas. Agriculture & breeding is an important economic activity. There are 2 quality labels: AOP (protected designation of origin) Fourme de Montbrison (cheese) & Côte du Forez (wine). Timber industry is well developed & being structured. Industrial & craft industrial activities are diversified. Tourism favours local tourists.
LAG seeks: - Development & promotion of the territory - Work about territorial identity with tourism - New ideas for rural tourism - Stand back from territory to manage to a better valorization LAG Offers: - Tourism houses network - Mutualised organisation for touristic offers - Enhance & promote natural conservation areas & heritage - Nature tourism (eg: farming tourism, pedagogic farms, hostelling etc.) - Tourism in firms (industry, craft, agricult.) - Pays d’Art et d’Histoire logo
