A naturally generous land

The general objective of the project is based on: → Promoting an attractive and welcoming image of Bugey, based on its "Naturally generous" touristic positioning.

This "Naturally Generous" touristic positioning for Bugey is a recent concept. Its distribution or publication is not yet established and the setting up of a tourism strategy and a marketing plan is beginning. Some tools already exist in the territory. The ViaRhôna path crosses the Bugey, along with other hiking trails or themed paths. Moreover, natural resources are important. The Rhone edges the Bugey, therefore creating many lakes, waterfalls, rivers and a marsh near 2000hectares large. The benefit of an international linked program will be in the promotion and exchange of the conviviality concept. The aim is to share best practices on establishing a green tourism strategy and also to benefit from each other's experience in terms of existing tourism networks.

The objectives of the project are: → Enhancement of natural resources and sites Focus on activities or on site events by working with local professionals. → Highlighting green tourism, especially for families Integrate tours offering a Nature and Heritage theme, while relying on existing routes and others to develop: Heritage paths linked to specific themes. → Combining sports and Nature Offer touristic and sporting facilities across the whole territory: hikes or runs through the countryside, and themed outings. → Development of European tours Create paths and 'races' between partner territories. Underlying actions could be added to these main objectives, like raising awareness of environmental protection for instance.
