Garment industry in local history
Finnish clothing industry was the golden era of 1960 - and 1970's. Garment industry has had a strong impact on the region's history and people. Exports to the “Soviet Union” ended in the late 1980s and the garment industry began to decline and the industry lost. Aim of the project is to collect your area garment industry tradition, which is soon to disappear. Tradition-related material is intended to create an object and the exhibition of any fashion show, which could be rotated to different countries. The aim is to • interviews with former employees • other data collection and documentation, for example: paper clothing patterns, advertising images • to create a joint exhibition and fashion show of old claims and objects • Saving objects to museum collections
