Farmers' settlement: promotion an exchange of experiences

Promote an exchange of experiences between rural areas regarding the establishment of news farms.

Farming sector is one of the most important sectors in Perche region, and represents 10 % of the employment. Farming sector is a key actor to economical, environmental, social and landscaped developments, local stakeholders are working on a “policy for settlement of farmers”. That is why topics like the passing on farms from future retired farmers to new cultivators or the support to news farmers are important to deal with.

We are looking for local authorities which,promote the settlement of news farmers through their public policies. Most particularly, we focus on the following activities: • Rising consciousness of the future retired farmers; • Support for settlement especially when the next sectors are related : - Farming of the highest quality : organic farming, seal of approval etc; - Promotion of local products; - Selling from farmer to customer; - Farm tourism.

LAGs, local authorities which, through their public policies, promote the settlement of news farmers.
