A bicycle service to promote this mode of transport

The main target is to improve the long-term share of ‘soft’ mobility in Pays des vallons de Vilaine. Activities include : - To choose the best solution: PVV rents EAPCs to inhabitants for periods of one, six or twelve months or PVV develops an incentive programme (for example, if an inhabitant buys an EAPC, they pay €200 less than the normal price) - To develop and create the service and to promote it - To link this project with other ones, such as the improvement of railway station area, the developement of cycle and pedestrian facilities (paths, parking, repair stations) and the building of bus stops.

Pays des vallons de Vilaine (PVV) is a rural and hilly territory, neighbouring a major urban area. Composed of 24 municipalities and 52 000 inhabitants, PVV wants to promote mobility. In the framewok of a soft mobility plan, PVV is developing a service to allow inhabitants use bicycles for their daily travel (e.g. going to work/school, shopping, leisure...). For this TNC project, PVV is thinking to improve the provision of electrically-assisted pedal cycles (EAPCs).

The main target is to improve the long-term share of ‘soft’ mobility in Pays des vallons de Vilaine, France.

We are looking to work with similar territories, i.e. rural and peri-urban (60% of PVV’s inhabitants’ works in the metropole) ones looking to develop a policy promoting ‘soft’ mobility.
