Support for Business Creation and Training
The project aims to re-skill/up skill workers from a rural/ small farmer/ exconstruction worker context to meet future challenges and opportunities (including self employment) as Ireland faces a carbon neutral economy.
County Longford is located within the central plain of Ireland. Its total area is 104,387 hectares & it has a population of 34,391 (Census 2006). This provides a population density of just under 32 persons per sq. km., which is relatively low in comparison to regional & national figures for Ireland.
-Organising joint events& training courses in relation to retraining trades people in the construction industry to avail of potential opportunities in environmentally friendly building techniques,creating local biomass supply chains &creating energy efficiency. -Creating long term local energy supply chains. -Exchanging best practices around stimulating rural employment. -Production of joint publications. Target group:Unemployed construction workers, farmers, environmental groups, dwellers
LAGs , interested partners must have both written and spoken English.
