LEADER 2012_Local Food

To develop the area and concept for local food, at the same time we would like to establish a short supply chain of food, which means that local farmers are self cultivating and producing raw material for local entrepreneurs.

There have been no concrete projects about the local food topic in North-Estonia yet. We have been working towards tourism networking and through these activities the next step concerning local food is needed and demanded. It would be important to develop the area and concept for local food, at the same time we would like to establish a short supply chain of food, which means that local farmers are self cultivating and producing raw material for local entrepreneurs. Additionally, there is a need for establishing some small home kitchen cafeterias, because currently the area doesn’t have such possibilities and it is decelerating the tourism development in the area.

The concept of local food of Western-Harju area has been worked out already. They have also established network and cooperation between producers and created opportunities for marketing their products.

All countries. We are looking for a partner, who has same interest or some experience in this matter so that the project could create added value for both LAGs.
