Demographic shrinkage

Demography: Analysis of the process of populatuion shrinkage in rural areas, describtion the nature of problems, description of opportunities that demoghraphic changes offer.

Several regions in the periphery of the Netherlands have to do with actual or threatened population shrinkage.

- Straight analysis of that process: decline of population in Western Europe in general; lack of prospects for young people, who migrate to the economic centres of the country; - Description of the nature and extent of the problems caused by shrinkage of the population; -Description of the opportunities that population shrinkage offers to inhabitants, entrepreneurs and policymakers.
