NSU operation

The Slovak Rural Network established its objectives in line with the mandatory NRN objectives set by the EU Regulation.
To increase the involvement of stakeholders in the implementation of rural development.
To improve the quality of the RDP implementation
To inform the broader public and potential beneficiaries on rural development policy and funding opportunities.
To promote innovation in agriculture, food production, forestry and rural areas.

How to join the network?
The NRN is open to everyone. There is no application or selection process, but there is a subscription process  according to 4 specific categories: agriculture, forestry, municipalities – villages, LEADER/ CLLD.  
Who are the members?
Until 31 May 2016, 3.941 members subscribed within the 4 categories (agriculture: 904 members, forestry: 887 members, municipalities – villages: 1.208 members, LEADER / CLLD: 942 members). 
How to get involved?
The NSU runs sub-projects with the participation of network members. NRN members must submit a letter describing the activity and the amount of support requested. The central unit of the NRN carries out an assessment to decide whether to support the activity.

The NSU and the Managing Authority
The NSU is delegated to a ministerial agency.
The NSU  usually has a meeting once a quarter.
The Central Unit is responsible for coordinating the regional antennas.
The summary action plan (developed based on regional action plans) is approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic.

The NSU and the Monitoring Committee
The Central Unit is a member of the Monitoring Committee and participates in meetings at least once a year.

 

Regional NSU structure
The NRN is supported by a Central Unit and 8 regional antennas.
The 8 regional antennas submit an action plan to the Central Unit every year.
The central unit approves action plans and activities of regional antennas.
The Central Unit draws-up a summary action plan based on regional action plans.

There is a coordination team of the National Rural Development Network involving approximately 25 members. This team manages and coordinates the tasks of the entire network and is responsible for its Action Plan. This team meets at least 4 times a year.
