Project summary:

The Harbour Cooperation project is an inter-territorial   cooperation project aimed at countering the declining trend in the number of overnight tourists in the South Funen Archipelago harbors. The project created a strong network and coherent profile around the common waters of the archipelago, helped develop and visualise the quality of the respective marinas and to create new products that can be a distinguishing feature for the area.

Project results:
  • The project is expected to generate 8 000 more overnight boat stays 1 year after the end of the project.
  • The overnight boat stays will result in approximately 5 new jobs based on a daily consumption of 500 DKK / 67 euro per boat.
  • The project expects to generate an increase in yearly revenue of EUR 335 570 as a direct result of the project at the end of the project period. Two years after the project end, this figure is EUR 536 900.
  • The project expects to generate an additional 1600 tourist accommodations (outside of the boats).
