NRN INFORMATION
The Greek National Rural Network
The Greek National Rural Network brings together local and national players to facilitate the exchange of experience, and support the implementation and evaluation of rural development policy. The Greek National Rural Network (NRN) has been fully operational since November 2008.
The Managing Authority (MA) of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) of Greece (the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, Administrative Sector for Community Resources and Infrastructure) is responsible for the operation of the NRN.
The NRN has seven main strategic objectives: to connect stakeholders and administrations involved in rural development; to identify, analyse and disseminate information on good practices in terms of rural development; to disseminate the RDP results ; to organise the exchange of experience and knowledge on rural development; to provide technical assistance for inter-territorial and transnational cooperation projects, in the context of Axis 4 (the LEADER approach); to cooperate with the ENRD and the other NRNs, to strengthen capacity building for RDP evaluation purposes.
Network Participants
The Greek NRN has 78 members representing programme beneficiaries, stakeholders involved in rural development; and administrative authorities involved in RDP implementation at the national level.
