NRN INFORMATION
Estonian Rural Network
Estonia’s National Rural Network promotes the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the coordinated implementation of rural development policy. The Estonian Rural Network has been fully operational since May 2007 and it is administered by the Ministry of Agriculture.
The main goal of the Estonian National Rural Network (NRN) is to support the implementation of the Estonian Rural Development Programme (RDP) by involving beneficiaries and other parties interested in rural development. The Estonian NRN aims to facilitate flexible, open-minded and gradual development, with bottom-up initiatives based on needs, and developed through cooperative activity among rural actors.
The main objectives of the Estonian NRN are: to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience throughout the country, to support the coordinated implementation and evaluation of rural development policy, and the exchange of information at a local, national and EU level.
Network Participants
The Estonian National Rural Network consists of several bodies that represent RDP beneficiaries, organisations and authorities engaged in rural development (such as agricultural organisations, universities, non-profit organisations, NGOs, associations of municipalities, etc.). There are no formal membership requirements, nor are there any fees or specific obligations.
