NRN Thematic Cluster on CLLD

1ST CLLD Cluster Meeting – Launch of the CLLD Cluster, 6 June 2013, Tomar (Portugal)

During the 18th NRN meeting in Portugal, the Hungarian NRN launched the new thematic cluster on Community-Led Local Development (CLLD). During the meeting time was made available for those NRNs who wished to take an active role in the CLLD cluster to develop a work plan (based on their themes of interest and planned activities related to these). ‘CLLD – the message unheard’: A conference organised by the Hungarian NRN, 22 July 2013, Budapest (Hungary)


The conference aimed to contribute to a better understanding of the added-value of the CLLD approach, as well as to create an opportunity to discuss CLLD programming and implementation for the 2014-2020 period. Presentation from the event can be accessed from the website of the Hungarian NRN.

During the conference, discussion groups were organised on practical issues of relevance for participants, based on a needs assessment prior to the event. The reports and presentation below summarise the main outcomes of these discussions:

2nd CLLD Cluster Meeting, 27 November 2013, Dijon (France)

The 2nd CLLD Cluster Meeting, organised in Dijon back-to-back with the 20th NRN Meeting, focused on three main themes:

  1. Demonstrating the added value of the CLLD approach in addressing social, economic and environmental issues.
  2. Administrative structures & cooperation for funds (useful practices, role of intermediate bodies)
  3. LAG & LDS selection, monitoring and evaluation.

At the end of the meeting participants expressed their interest in continue to work jointly on CLLD-related topics; and therefore, provisionally set up two working groups as a framework of further cooperation and exchange:

  • Working group 1 aims to set up an Exchange Platform (on-line forum), which will give the opportunity to engage in discussions and exchange valuable information and practices concerning CLLD, primarily with the participation of Managing Authority (MA) and Paying Agency (PA) cluster members.
  • Working group 2 will aim to increase awareness about the added value of LEADER & CLLD among various stakeholders (in particular policy-makers).

Virtual Think Tank Session – ‘Information flow, communication and coordination for the CLLD delivery system’, 28 May 2014

The Virtual Think Tank aimed at exchanging information and ideas on communication and coordination mechanisms related to CLLD programming, implementation and support with the participation of interested CLLD cluster members.
