Identifying best practice in rural development
Three LEADER Focus Groups (FG) were launched in November 2009 with the objective of examining LEADER implementation throughout the EU to identify examples of good practice that could be developed into recommendations to improve the implementation of LEADER. The Groups reported to the LEADER Subcommittee and fed their results into other ENRD activities related to the implementation and improvement of EU rural development policy. The three FGs were composed of representatives of National Rural Networks, Local Action Groups, Managing Authorities and NGOs, all under the co-chairmanship of different NRNs or organizations.
A new Focus Group on Better Local Development Strategies was launched in May 2011 and aims to analyse the two key aspects of local development strategies - creation and implementation.
