River tourism

Kokemäenjokilaakson matkailuyrittäjät ry; Tourism association of enterpreneurs is looking for partners for international cooperation.We are especially interested in: - develop of local toursim; - local food/handicraft festival; - tourism packages; - ecotourism.

The central ”highway” in the Karhuseutu area is the river Kokemäenjoki that runs through most of the municipalities in the region and floats finally into the Baltic Sea. The importance of waterways is great in all the municipalities in the area. The coastline of the Baltic Sea was shaped by ice sheets. Post-glacial elevation can be best observed in the changes in the waterside vegetation. The fauna & the birdlife is one of the richest in the Nordic countries.
