Awareness to environmental issues through art creation

Through art projects, we want to engage the public in environmental awareness and action and help the population to understand its relationship with the environment, the territory and local know-how.

The LAG approximately has 49 000 inhabitants and an urban sprawl area near the city of Poitiers. The development of this territory can be based on the preservation & promotion of its natural heritage (forests, rivers, valleys, etc.). It has a contemporary Art Center (Rurart) that invites artists to produce & exhibit their works to point out & discuss the major current issues arround world, from an ethical, aesthetic, scientific, economic, environmental point of view.

We are looking for partners to organise events with local and European artists in order to make people aware about the importance of preserving the environment, as well as to facilitate public art and environmental education. Another LAG from our region, the Pays Civraisien, is involved in this cooperative project. Local organisations work in the field of contemporary art are also welcome to join us. (Rurart, Regional contemporary art collection, etc.).
