What are the environmental or climate impacts of a farming practice, and which farming practices are linked to specific impacts? These are the type of questions that can be answered by the EU’s new Integrated Modelling platform for Agro-economic and resource Policy analysis (iMAP).
Operated by DG AGRI and the JRC, iMAP has been introduced to help supply scientific evidence on the CAP’s environment and climate change objectives. It includes a section synthesising dedicated information about impacts of farming practices on the environment and the climate . Other content showcasing case studies of promising agri-food practices at farm and territorial level is taken from the ENRD database, EIP database, or other relevant research projects. Farming practices related to animal welfare and antimicrobials use are also featured from the study of CAP measures and instruments promoting animal welfare and reduction of antimicrobials use.
