The European Environment Agency’s and the European Commission’s released a new report on the State of Nature in the EU.
The report describes the state of nature in the EU between 2013 and 2018 and is based on reports from Member States under the Birds and the Habitats directives. In addition to an overview on species and habitats status, both at national and EU levels, it also addresses the status of the Natura 2000 network and its possible contribution to the status of species and habitats.
The document includes the EU population status of birds and the conservation status of habitats and non-bird species, and the very serious pressures and threats all face, which include unsustainable agriculture and forestry practices, urbanisation and pollution.
