LEADER II | The European Network for Rural Development (ENRD)

LEADER II operated from 1994 to 1999 and supported 906 Local Action Groups (LAGs) across rural Europe. The Observatory of Rural Areas supported LAGs throughout the programme period and published a wide range of case studies, thematic dossiers and methodological guides for their support and guidance. The material has been freely accessible on the various generations of Observatory and ENRD websites since then.

A review of LEADER II material identified support material that continues to be up-to-date and of relevance to LAGs. The review assessed all LEADER II publications and selected documents considered to be informative and relevant in the current programming period, particularly for rural communities and individuals new to rural development and the LEADER approach.
