Camping tourism represents a growing part of the overall tourism industry. Camping tourism as a return to primary values of the human civilization, through sustainability, rejuvenation of services, outdoor activities and sociological values gives answers to the negative trends of the societal development and becomes one of the highest quality answers of tourism to the numerous global challenges.
Camping in Slovenia has been a popular activity – not only for Slovenian people, even more for foreign tourists. Moreover, as a cheap alternative to other types of holiday accommodation, camping has been one of the rare sectors that has actually benefited from the economic downturn.
Slovenia is a new European camper's paradise, and there are campsites to suit all tastes - from the exclusive up-market sites offering full comfort for caravans and even ready-to-use tents, to the most basic rural campsites offering little more than the essentials.
Slovenian municipalities/towns would like to move beyond just offering spaces for campers with their own camping car, with thematic experiences for tourist (camping spots in Natural parks, near thermal spa area, near lakes etc.).
The project idea is to foreseen free camping with campers in Europe. Our idea is to boost easy travel in most of the European continent without ever paying for accommodation.
Target groups: owners of a camper van or motorhome, a vehicle you can cook in, carry drinking water, sleep in and have on-board toilet facilities. Most European countries provide official places for you to stay overnight. These are generally referred to as camper stops. In project, we want to facilitate camper friendly areas with basic facilities: electricity, desk&tables, drinking water, free Wi-Fi connections etc. Idea is, that 48 hours overnight parking will be for free. However, the vast majority of the facilities provided are free of charge.

Promotion of camper stops as perfect place to enjoy the natural environment, recreational sports and leisure activities with friends and family.
