Context: 

The project brings together predominantly hilly and mountainous territories characterized by vast expanses of forests and a wide natural landscape offer such as caves, dolines, gullies, and marine terraces. This territorial conformation, common to the territories involved, makes them present features of assonance in terms of opportunities and problems / obstacles to local territorial development. The common strengths are: favoring and welcoming organic productions, of regional and national excellence; low use of intensive production techniques with low environmental impact. Added to this is the need to deal with common problems such as the scarce commercial valorization capacity of local agricultural products; poor or non-existent supply chain integration; insufficient services to meet the qualitative and quantitative needs of the population; very high proportion of the active population without employment.

Project idea summary: 

The project aims to develop new programming tools and governance models aimed at the territory to improve and refine the various forms of local development partnerships, as well as the related consultation procedures. This innovation will be able to increase the effectiveness of the integration between the different levels of planning in consideration of the fundamental themes of the community policies. Governance, so rethought and renewed, will be a mere tool to deal with various issues with greater efficiency and effectiveness: Agriculture and diversification in an eco-sustainability perspective; Production aspects linked to the local tradition, conservation of the family model with creation of micro production chains; Environmental sustainability and creation of tourist routes; Local tourism based on the enhancement of the historical and environmental heritage.

Objectives: 

The objectives are:
1.promote and spread the culture of planning and consultation with the aim of creating a common response system to common problems
2.promote action of exchange and training among operators to create skills and transfer experiences on local development experienced by each partner with the aim of adopting common methodologies or developing coordinated development activities;
3.promote the transfer of good practices through information and training actions and an appropriate communication plan with the aim of
4. enhance the local historical and environmental heritage of the territories involved; 5. experiment with innovative regional governance tools promoted by local partners.
