Andalusian Research and Training Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries (IFAPA)

Institution overall role: IFAPA addresses the demands of agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and food in Andalusia, with a particular focus on scientific research and development in arid and semi-arid zones.

Role and priorities/objectives in knowledge transfer & innovation: IFAPA’s main fields of work are:

Support policy development and management
Undertake sectoral research for the benefit of farms, consumers and the environment
Plan and implement information programs and training of farmers, fishermen, workers and technicians including dissemination of research results
Provide advice to stakeholders based on research findings
Encourage partnership in programmes and research for technology transfer
Develop IFAPA human resources as a centre of excellence for technology transfer
