Main purpose
The main aim of the short video is to promote the idea of good levels and types of consultation during planning to conclude a strategy for local development that locals feel reflects their needs and that they feel ownership of.

The video is one of a range of outcomes from a thematic working group within the Swedish NRN. In addition to this motivation video the group has:
a. Conducted a survey of local municipalities about rural issues in the spatial planning process;
b. Written and arranged publication of an article in national newspapers advocating the need for a rural dimension in spatial planning;
c. Written and arranged publication of a “fiction article” how the planning process could be in an ideal municipality;
d. Produced six leaflets about good practices from different municipalities.
