Summary
YouRural Net is a web community of young farmers, developed by the Youth Working Group of the Italian National Rural Network, which offers tools to share knowledge, experiences and best practices. Most young farmers live in highly rural areas, some very isolated. This limits the opportunity to communicate with their peers and benefit from peer-to-peer learning. The development of a web based community enables these farmers to have regular contact with like-minded people and share their personal and professional experiences of being young farmers in Italy.

Main purpose
Based on the concept of "collective intelligence", the platform aims to share knowledge, experiences and best practices between young farmers, rural development actors, representatives of institutions and industry organisations, university students and teachers, agronomists, etc.

The community was established in June 2011 and today YouRural Net has over 1 050 members, the majority of which are young farmers. The site has had 41 000 visits from 22 000 individual visitors.
