    Summary

    VIDEOFARMERS is a film review which presents and explores documentaries on best practice examples of rural development in Italy. It specifically focuses on projects which have been carried out by young farmers who have received grant support under EU Rural Development policies. The success of VIDEOFARMERS was recognised countrywide by winning the national award “New Success Factors”.

  • Main purpose

    The project aims to improve the dissemination of best practices in agriculture by using a user-friendly instrument: the docufilms. The case history of young farmers was chosen for this new methodology, by the Youth Working Group of the National Rural Network. The movies are filmed in HD by young directors selected from the best Italian film schools; the result is a high quality product which is easily accessible by the general public.

    Distribution & Promotion

    The films have been distributed through a special screening in “Sala Gialla” for 600 people, during the Environment Film Festival in Turin “Cinemambiente” and the Future Film Festival 2013 in Hungary. The films were also on the NRNs YouTube channel and presented at “Eataly” to an audience of about 100 students, and later in Brussels. The NRN also used all its communication tools for dissemination.

    Assessment of effectiveness

    The films became one of the best practice examples of communication selected by the jury of the CAP Communication Awards.
