    Summary

The project explores the experiences and life stories of the entrepreneurs, communities and beneficiaries, who, using public funds made available through the RDP, have improved their businesses and their local areas.
The case histories reflect the objectives of the EU rural development policy (competitiveness of agriculture and forestry, protection of the environment and the land, the quality of life in rural areas) where agriculture is not only an economic activity but also underpins the landscape and daily lives of rural communities, of bold business decisions in which economic activity and production is intertwined with social life and the local context.
The project has national significance and involves all Italian regions, documenting more than 100 experiences. A set of complimentary focused tools were utilised including constructing histories, interviews, videos, and a photo gallery which endeavour to explain the most relevant cases from several points of view.
