In February 2013, the German NRN organised a workshop in collaboration with young people and LAG management to work out what kind of support everyone needed to work better together. The results and many best practice examples are published in this special edition of the NRN's 'LandInForm' magazine. The workshop and the magazine were a cooperation project with the German youth organisations (Catholic Rural Youth Movement [KLJB] and Young Protestants in Rural Areas [ejl]). The cooperation began in 2011 with the organisations deciding a workshop would be the best first step to identify what young people really think and need. For this workshop the cooperation partners selected engaged young people and the NRSU selected LAG Managers. The LAG Managers were asked to bring one young person from their LAG area who was interested to participating in a 'Youth and Rural Development' workshop.

The aim of the cooperation was to find out how to improve youth engagement in rural development and to share best practice projects. This edition of the magazine sort to disseminate best practice approaches and information on the practical needs of young people in rural areas.

The magazine which reported the results of the workshop was distributed to everybody who subscribes to the normal magazine which is published four times a year.
