Summary
The event combined an international conference for LAGs and NRNs and an international LAGs fair. The theme of the event in 2013 was the preservation of distinct ethno-cultural regional identities. The conference on the first day of the event focused on the 2014-2020 programming period and best practice examples from LEADER. The fair provided the main networking experience, as the participating LAGs presented their regions and projects.

Main purpose
During the initial implementation of the “Inter-territorial and Transnational Cooperation” measure of the Rural Development Programme for Lithuania 2007-2013, little or no cooperative activity was taking place. One of the main roles of the Lithuanian NRN has been to provide technical support for LAGs in order to assure appropriate implementation of the LEADER method. Consequently the “Panemunių blossom” fair was established to strengthen and develop international collaborative links and share best practices.This event provided the opportunity for LAGs to strengthen and expand international and regional links, to exchange experience and to develop ideas for new cooperation projects.

The event was promoted in regional and national newspapers, invitations were also sent encouraging LAGs in Lithuania and abroad to participate.
Assessment of effectiveness
No official assessment has been undertaken however several transnational projects have been successfully developed because of this event including between LAGs in Lithuania and Italy, and Lithuania and Poland.
