    Summary

One of the workshops of the annual Rural Development Conference held on 16 October 2012 in Enfield, Ireland, was dedicated to "Maximising Rural Youth as a Resource". The workshop was a great opportunity to hear the voices of rural youth. It was held in the context of a larger programming conference, intended to contribute to the future planning of the rural development policy and to answer the question on how it can be best used for the benefit of rural youth. With this view, the issues of rural youth and young farmers were recognized as higly important for the future, alongside four others: farm entrepreneurship, CLLD, locality of food entreprises and creative industries.
