Summary
At its second edition, following a good start, the Rural Gala held in the Northern Ostrobothnia region (Finland) is organised by the Rural Education Association together with the Rural Network Unit within Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in order to bring into the spotlight positive examples of development endeavors in the Finnish countryside, bringing together rural entrepreneurs, active residents, and different rural development stakeholders.
Prizes are awarded for the following categories: (1) Rural Community award – individuals, organization or even a company for long-term operation, (2) Country Insight – for new ideas, projects, events that brings into the attention the countryside in a new way and (3) The agricultural business - agricultural company that has developed its business in a new direction.

Assessment of effectiveness
The rural gala was successful for many reasons and multiplied. This kind of event is a very effective tool for promoting implementation of quality projects financed with the EAFRD. It mobilises rural actors ro recognise the values of their activities and to focus on communicting their results with wider audience, often giving inspirations for similar undertakings in other contexts.
