Summary
This mobile application was developed by the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. ‘Fun’ and light-hearted in tone, the application serves to underscore a serious message on the protection of bees and their habitats. The application contains facts and figures on bees; information on how to grow the sort of flowering plants that bees love; a glossary of about 100 ‘bee-friendly’ plants; and quizzes. In addition, the app includes fun games that promote an appreciation for bees e.g. users can save bees by preserving flowers or help bees to fly from flower to flower distributing pollen. The protection of bees is a major focus of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.
