Summary
Held on 12-14 December, this three-day conference with workshop entitled ‘Unite for Rural Development’ was hosted by National Rural Development Network (NRDN SR), under the auspices of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the SR. The first two days were dedicated to presenations from the NRN, Local Action Group (LAG) representatives, public-private partnerships (potential LAGs), Ministry officials, and representatives of self governing regions both from Slovakia and abroad (Czech Republic and Poland). The third day saw participants divide into five working groups to discuss CLLD, LAGs in 2014-2020 and cooperation.

Main purpose
The aim of the conference was to provide updated information on the future programming period 2014-2020, especially as regards LEADER access. The conference also entailed a review of the implementation of the RDP in 2007-2013.

Assessment of effectiveness
Some 160 people attended the conference, all of whom had the opportunity to discuss achievements, problems and particular issues from their working lives with their partners and colleagues. They also had the opportunity to establish contacts with potential partners from abroad. Different opinions brought new insight and it was particularly useful to have experts from the Czech Republic and Poland contribute their knowledge also.
