Institution overall role: Euromontana is a non-profit and scientific organization operating as a network and aiming to improve the living conditions of the mountain populations of Europe through representation, research, information exchange, training and international cooperation.
Research role: The main focus of Euromontana's work including research is on sustainable development of mountain areas.
Rural development research focus: All of Euromontana's work is related to rural development.
Priorities/objectives for rural development research: Euromontana's research is prioritised around these types of issues: economic development; human capital; natural and heritage resources; services and networks; culture and traditions; and policies and governance in mountain areas.
Institutional networking linkages: Euromontana today represents around 70 member organizations of all kinds in 15 European countries.
