3rd meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group on the Long Term Rural Vision

This was a further meeting of the ENRD Thematic Group (TG) to contribute to developing the EU Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas (LTVRA) announced by the President of the European Commission.

Aims of the meeting

• To hear a short update from the JRC on their further work in developing the foresight scenarios
• To take stock of the main messages that have been coming out of the work carried out so far on the Long Term Rural Vision (for example, in Member States, related research projects, other organisations).
• Based on this information, to begin a discussion about the common strands and the step changes needed to ensure the future Long Term Rural Vision becomes a reality for rural communities across Europe.
• To discuss the most effective ways of developing more concrete ideas and proposals and taking them forward through events such as the major virtual ENRD Conference foreseen in the week of the 22 March 2021.
